The story
Legend Trails is where Elkhorn runs out into open country, and this lot takes the view rather than the street. The great room, the dining table and the office all look the same way, west over farmland, which is why the back of the house is mostly glass and the front is quiet.
The plan is organised around one long sightline. You come in across a herringbone floor, past the office on one side, and the house opens into a great room that runs two storeys to a stone chimney. The kitchen sits on the same floor plane with a walnut island and a pantry shelved on both sides, so the room that does the work is out of sight of the room that does the living.
The primary suite is on the main floor under a vault, with its own fireplace and an arched window on the west wall. Downstairs is finished properly — a family room, a full bar and a second table — because a lower level that is only storage is a third of a house nobody uses.
Everything behind the finishes is the Emerald standard, which does not change from house to house: a fully sealed, energy-efficient envelope, filtered air, reverse-osmosis drinking water, and the technology run quietly in the background. None of it is an upgrade here. It is what the house is.
